How to sew the shoe bag with houndstooth check
Today’s handcrafted goods is “houndstooth shoe bag".
Materials
Outer body fabrics, 22cm by 24cm are 2 pieces. (Seam allowances are included, attach interfacing)
Fusible interfacing gives fabric firmness, and keeps shape of shoe bag.
Bottom patch fabrics, 13cm by 24cm are 2 pieces. (Seam allowances are included, attach interfacing)
Inner body fabrics, 32.5cm by 23.5cm are 2 pieces. (Seam allowances are included)
Tape (same cloth, acrylic webbing, or ribbon, etc…. As you like.) 2.5cm by 30cm is 1 piece. 2.5cm by 5cm is 1 piece.
D-ring is 1 piece.
Make outer fabrics
1. Sew the outer fabric and bottom patch with right side together.
2. Press seam allowances to bottom side, and stitch.
3. Other outer fabric and bottom patch, do the same way.
Make bag body (outer)
1. Fold the tape in half. Then baste the outer fabric and tape (with D-ring) together.
2. Lay the outer fabrics with right side, and sew the side and bottom.
3. Cut off extra cloths, and press seam allowances open.
4. Make gusset, and sew.
5. Cut the extra seam allowances.
Make bag body (inner)
1. Lay the inner fabrics with right side, and sew the side and bottom. (Leaving 8cm open for turning.)
2. Cut off extra cloths, and press seam allowances open.
3. Make gusset, and sew.
4. Cut the extra seam allowances.
Make shoe bag
1. Insert the inner bag into the outer bag with right side together. Then sew around.
2. Unseam the bastings. Then press seam allowances open.
3. Turn inside out, and sew the edge.
4. Iron, and stitch the edge of bag mouth. It’s done.
