How to sew a little shoulder bag (sewing pattern is not necessary)

Today’s handcrafted goods is “DIY little shoulder bag".

Fabrics

Outer bag fabric is 2 pieces. (24cm×26cm, attach interfacing)

Fusible interfacing gives fabric firmness, and keeps shape of bag.

Bag lining fabric is 2 pieces. (24cm×26cm)

Fabric for flap is 2 pieces. (16cm×16cm)

For pocket is 1 piece. (14cm×14cm)

For shoulder strap is 2 pieces. (16cm×53cm)

Make flap

Sew the flap fabrics with right side together.

Turn inside out, and do the ironing, and stitch.

Make bag body (outer)

Sew the outer bag fabrics with right side together.

Then make 8cm gusset, and sew.

Make pocket and bag body (inner)

Fold the pocket fabric in three, and sew the edge with zig zag stitch.

When folding in three, it is recommended to use an sewing ruler for iron. The folds are neat and the finish is nicely.

Then sew the edge.

Fold the 3 edges by 1cm inwards, and sew the pocket on bag lining fabric.

Make inner bag body in the similar way as outer bag.
(Difference：leaving 10cm open for turning.)

Make shoulder strap

Sew the short side of shoulder fabrics with right side together.

Then fold in four,…

and sew the edges.

Sew the outer, flap and shoulder together

Sew the outer bag body, flap and shoulder together. (It is better to baste.)

Sew the outer and inner together, and finish

Insert the inner bag into the outer bag, with right side facing each other. Then sew together.

Turn inside out,…

and sew the hem.

Then stitch the edge of bag mouth, it’s done.
