How to sew a tote bag (denim and camouflage) sewing pattern is not necessary
Today’s handcrafted goods is “DIY tote bag with denim and camouflage".
Materials
Outer body fabrics, 20cm by 27cm are 2 pieces. (Seam allowances are included, attach interfacing)
Fusible interfacing gives fabric firmness, and keeps shape of tote bag.
For gussets, 7cm by 20cm are 2 pieces. (Seam allowances are included, attach interfacing)
For bottom, 7cm by 27cm. (Seam allowances are included, attach interfacing)
Inner body fabrics, 22.5cm by 32cm are 2 pieces. (Seam allowances are included)
Handles, 2.5cm by 28cm. 2 pieces.
Make bag body (outer)
1. Sew the gusset and bottom fabric with right side together. (Don’t sew 1cm from the edges.)
2. Press seam allowances open.
3. Sew the other side of fabric, do the same way.
4. Sew the gusset and body with right side together. (Don’t sew 1cm from the bottom edge.)
5. Sew the other side of gusset, do the same way.
6. Sew the bottom and body with right side together. (Don’t sew 1cm from the edges.)
7. Sew the other side of body fabric, do the same way.
8. Cut off extra cloths. (bottom side and bag mouth side.)
9. Press seam allowances open.
10. Sew the outer fabric and handles together.
Make bag body (inner)
1. Lay the inner fabrics with right side, and sew the side and bottom.
2. Cut off extra cloth, and press seam allowances open. Then make gussets, and sew.
3. Cut the extra seam allowances.
Sew the outer and inner together
1. Insert the inner bag into the outer bag, with right side together. Then sew around. (Leaving 7cm open for turning.)
2. Press seam allowances open, and turn inside out.
3. Do the ironing, and stitch the edge of bag mouth.
4. Finishing iron. It’s done.
